Silver Sousaphones for all Seasons

Brighten your Holidays with this 4" sousaphone ornament!

The Tipp City Music Boosters have started a new fundraiser to purchase new sousaphones for the Tippecanoe High School Marching Band.

Recently we researched the age of the sousaphones that we now use for the marching band and found that the newest one was built in 1969 and our oldest was built in 1909!  Almost 100 years old!  All of the others were built somewhere in between but mostly around 1920-1930.  These instruments have seen a lot of use over the years and you can tell when you look at them.  We also spent money this year to repair them so they could last the season.

I don't know about you, but the band directors and students think it would be a blessing to get some new ones!

This is a very large purchase for the Music Boosters as ten new sousaphones and cases will cost approximately $60,000. While we are looking at a large amount of money, we are pursuing some grant money and a loan for part of the cost.

You can help by purchasing a Christmas Tree ornament for this holiday season!  Above is a picture of the 4" ornament that you can purchase for $100. $90 of this donation may be tax deductible since we are a 501 (c)(3) organization as defined by the Internal Revenue Service.

Please contact Della Stearns to purchase an ornament or to make a donation at treasurer@tippcitymusicboosters.org or call 667-8325.
